Flo Minga to broadcast radio show on web (from April 2005)

Flo Minga talks about the Flo Minga Radio Cocktail Show (edited for 2007).

New audio messages to be added

Hello again folks, it's time to dust off the old keyboard and update the Flo Minga Barbeque Blog!

Old Flo's been busy with his other myriad responsibilities (and they are legion) for the past months, but now I'm retired and able to devote time to my blog.

One of the first things I've done is to experiment with my PC's recording capabilities and now I'll be able to add frequent audio posts to the blog - not exactly the Internet radio show I had hoped for, but a least a modest start.  Perhaps the radio show will come about as time permits.  But in the meantime, I do hope you'll enjoy listening to the audio files.

Miss Joan Crawford Frequented Flo Minga's

In 1955 the legendary movie star Joan Crawford married Pepsi-Cola board chairman Alfred N. Steele. In 1959 Miss Crawford was elected to the Pepsi board of directors two days after her husband's fatal heart attack and later became a publicity executive. She remained associated with the firm for the rest of her life and visited Baton Rouge many times during her worldwide travels. Joan always found time to dine at Flo Minga's and enjoyed unwinding at the bar in the festive Flo-Go Lounge with several vodka and Pepsi Colas. According to staffers, she especially liked Flo's pulled pork and usually ordered a fried peach pie for dessert. Miss Crawford died of a heart attack in her Manhattan home on May 10, 1977. An autographed picture of the star is included on the restaurant's Wall of Fame.

Boiled Water thread from the old neworleans.com food forum

There is a wonderful discussion thread from the old "New Orleans.com Food Forum" that has been preserved in the Flo Minga Archives for all to see. Print it and use the great boiled water suggestions and recipes. Bon aqua!

Audio Post from the Marconi

Another neat feature of my Blogspot is being able to post audio messages from anywhere using the phone. This message was sent via my Verizon Marconi device. I can be driving down Airline Highway and Blogspotting at the same time!
